Monkey Post: 5-a-side street football
Monkey Post (MPOST) is a free 3D football game you play in your browser, on a phone or a laptop. There is nothing to download and no keeper to hide behind.
What is a monkey post?
It is the small goal of street football: two stones, two bags or two slippers on the ground, a few steps apart. No net and no goalkeeper. If you grew up playing football on a street, a compound or a school field, you have scored through one.
The game is built around that kind of football: five against five on a small pitch, small goals, quick passes and tight dribbling.
Ways to play
- Play match: pick your team and line-up and take on the computer on Easy, Medium or Hard.
- Penalty shootout: five kicks each, then sudden death.
- Training: free play on an open pitch, and penalty practice.
- Online: send a friend a link or a room code and play each other, find a quick match, or play ranked matches for a place on the leaderboard.
How to play
- On a phone: turn it sideways. Move with the on-screen stick and use the buttons to pass, shoot, tackle and switch player.
- On a laptop: use the keyboard or plug in a controller. You can change the buttons in Settings.
- Like an app: add Monkey Post to your home screen and it opens full screen, without the browser bars.

The first teams come from Lagos: Ojuelegba, Surulere, Lekki, Ikeja and Victoria Island. A sixth, Banana Island, is the strongest side in the game, and you unlock it by beating it. Teams from more cities are on the way.
